Where to find statistics on "average patient load."

Our manager often quotes, "the average patient load of a hospice nurse is....."

Where can this data be reviewed?

Re: Where to find statistics on "average patient load."

National Association of Home Care and Hospice gathers statistics as does NHPCO. Several of the palliative care journals have statistical data as well. National caseload average for hospice case managers is about 12.5ish. Problem with statisitcs is that the person spouting them has usually looked at the one set of data that benefits their position. What a wonderful world of data at our fingertips!!!

Isn't that the truth. The people doing the stats are not the ones doing the work!!!
