Smile Standing Orders

What do you have on your standing orders in relationship to wound care. We have standing orders for meds and O2, but now need to put some on for wounds as we just went computerized and had them on our paper orders.

Anything over a stage 2, we call for orders - though we do have a wound care protocol that we go by.

Re: Standing Orders

Our Hospice Standing Orders for wound care are as follows: for Stage I and II RN may cleanse with NSS or sterile water and cover with a DSD, barrier drsg, or hydrocolloidal drsg; Drsg may be changed dialy and prn. MD to be called for specific f/u orders. It's pretty liberal...have a good day
