Non Medical staff making medication suggestions

I recently took a Hospice position, I have come to find out that some of the HHA's and the SW suggest medications to families, mostly the standard meds the agency uses, however, I am feeling this is out of their scope of practice and they should be referring families to their case manager for answers. I realize this is a team effort, however there should be some boundaries. What do you think?

I think your right, there should be. As I understand it, you have a med box in the home. A nurses aide or a social worker should not be giving opinions on the use of these, it should be the nurse or their physician.
