Medical Supplies question

Does your company have a cap on medical supplies you can order for a patient?

Also, do you order your own supplies or is it delegated to office staff?

Does your company have a "formulary" for said medical supplies and you have
to get approval from your administrator to order outside the "formulary" for
medical supplies (this includes pullups, diapers, etc).

Thank you for your input.

Re: Medical Supplies question

We "sort of" have a formulary. We stock certain things in our office but will order off formulary if we see a valid need for it (a supervisor must make this decision.) We generally do not pay for pull ups - only the tape up kind.

Re: Medical Supplies question

Office staff orders supplies and the CNA's have a limit of appx two packs of diapers per week and two packs of chux pads. If more is needed and the family requests- we usually provide. But no pull-ups. Too pricey.

Re: Medical Supplies question

thank you for replies. the formulary does have diapers and wipes, chux; and an assortment of wound care supplies. I'm not as freaked out as I was when they first instituted the formulary.
