Not sure of your location, but I am a LPN and I work in Hospice. We work as case managers, continuous care staff, on-call staff. These are some of the areas in which my company use LPN's.

Have a LPN on staff right now. She works as a staff nurse. Works out okay but makes me in charge of Plan of Care, and LPN's must have supervised visits every 60 days.

We use LPNs in several ways. If we are short HHA, they do baths. We use them for overflow nurse visits when the case managers are busy, or when Case managers go on vacation. We had an LPN who did admissions for us. An RN would have to follow the next day to review the careplan. We have two LPNs who are in their 70's who work 2-3 days a week. They run circles around the other nurses.

Hi I 'm an LPN I work as an case manager .I see 4 -6 pt's a day plus oncall.We have teams set up with RN's and LPN's.....We do plan of care and pronounce pt once passed away.....We don't do admits......Hospice Nurse for 4 yrs........

IN MY AREA IN CLEVELAND WE HAVE A 42 BED FACILITY CALLED HOSPICE HOUSE THAT EMPLOY LPNS AND IN OUR EXTENDED CARE TEAM THAT WILL GO INTO THE HOME AND STAY THERE TO MONITOR SYMPTOMS OR AN ACTIVE PT OR A POTENIAL BLEED.

I sent a resume to Hospice about 6 mo ago never heard from them until today. They said they didn't have anything back then but held onto my resume. Anyway she left me a message to call her. I would love to work for Hospice just wondering how is the pay for LPN's in hospice. Both of my parents were in Hospice care it was great to have someone to talk to.

The pay generally coinsides with years of experience in nursing, what type of nursing expeience you have, how they utilize you, and how great their need is for filling the position. It doesn't hurt to go speak to them & let them know your pay requirements. Hope this helps

I'm an LPN...I work Home Hospice. I do follow-up visits for the RN case managers, take on-call time, pronounce death. As an LPN, I have a little more time to spend with the patients, as most of the paperwork is the RNs responsibilty.
I've worked with several agencies, most of the time I was paid per-visit, but now I'm hourly...I get paid to be in the office if there are no visits to be made. Being paid hourly has led me to spend more time with my patients, as there is no pressure to hurry. I really love the role I play here....I've been in Hospice for over 30 years...would never consider anything else.
