Question Hospital Based Palliative Care Programs

Is there anyone that has had any experience with creating or implementing a hospital based palliative care program? I am specifically looking for information regarding smaller rural ares and critical access hospitals. If no information regarding critical access hospitals and palliative care programs, just information and general knowledge is great.

I havent visited here in a while. But who better to ask than my peers.

Re: Hospital Based Palliative Care Programs

...even though you are from KS and I am a proud MU grad (winkwink), I will tell you to contact the Palliative Care program at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. I can give you names if you wish.

We have an entire pre-printed order set for palliation/comfort care. The docs just check what they want, we implement it. It covers all the symptoms of impending death and keeps the patients and their families comfortable. I love working with palliation patients. I think our program is great, people don't suffer, and the team here is AWESOME!!!
