Hospice Work...is there lot of physical work??

I am a R.N. I injured my neck a year and a half ago (ruptured disc) and had to have a fusion and steel plate inserted. I went to work as a Quality Managament nurse 4 weeks post op. and 6 months later had to stop working due to furhter health problems. I have been off work for a year and will be relaeased back to work in a few weeks. Is being a RN in hospice work physically taxing, previously I was a ER nurse.

Lots of turning and repositioning of bedbound pts, transferring pts from bed to W/C and back again.

Foley insertions and care, wound, IV and central line care, making occupied beds, peri care, and changing dirty linens, and so on.

Hi. Home health hospice isn't as taxing physically as inpatient hospice is. Family usually provides most of the physically demanding care (moving patients, turning them, etc.) at least that has been my experience.
