Hospice jobs in or near Dallas Metroplex?

Hi,
I am thinking of looking into PRN hospice jobs and just wanted to know what to expect. Does any know of reputable hospice companies to work for in or near Dallas?
Is it difficult to get hired by hospice?
I currently work in Cardiac ICU and much of what I do is deal with end of life issues and withdraw of life support. I feel based on my experience of dealing with the issues, with patients and their families, hospice would be a great fit for me.
Any ideas/places are welcomed.
Avery

Re: Hospice jobs in or near Dallas Metroplex?

Hi, I am currently working for VITAS in Ft. Worth. There are many hospice companies in the metroplex. Large to small. Non-profit and for-profit. As a hospice nurse you can have patients in nursing homes or patient homes. Your patients can be pedis or adults. I happen to be a pedi nurse who also takes some adult patients. You might want to see if you can go out with a nurse to see if it is something you are interested in. Just contact an agency and ask. I am sure they would love to have you.

Good luck
