Hospice Care Experience

Hey Everyone! I was wondering if you guys could help me out. Im an anthropology student and currently working on a research paper on death and dying and how nurses respond to it. I've basically have done some work in a nursing home but am looking for some more opinions.

I was wondering if anyone would like to share their experience with death and dying and how they handled that situation.

I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Re: Hospice Care Experience

I would suggest you contact the hospice nearest to you and ask to interview a couple nurses there. If you go to google and type in hospice and the nearest city you will get "local results for hospice for (name of city)" and it will list all the hospices in the area and how far away they are.

Re: Hospice Care Experience

Hi everyone, this is my very first post. I have been registered for a couple of days and have been reading and reading LOL

aimeee, thank you so much for your suggestion. I will be training to be a Hospice vollunteer in May! I just got off the phone with them. All I did was look up "Hospice" on google, and put in my town, and WHaaala There is one about five minutes away!

Anyhow, I have applied to school to get my BSN and am waiting to hear on that. I'm very excited to start the process of becoming a nurse. I already have a BA in Biology, so we'll see how it goes. I have my interview with the Nursing Chair on Tuesday ... am only moderately nervous! Well, I guess that is about it. Thank you for being here!

Smiles,
bubalu
