Feelin' Froggy! Anybody travel hospice?

Howdy folks!

I was just curious; has anyone done travel nursing as a hospice nurse/case manager? I still want to see more of the US and I am feelin' froggy lately....anybody know of anyone that took a temp job in hospice to be able to experience more?

Re: Feelin' Froggy! Anybody travel hospice?

I'm a traveler now with a company out of NM, serving a community 40 miles to 100 miles away from my home.

The money is good but I wish they would realize how much more expensive I am than their regular RNCM's (who, sadly, are salaried!) and stop loading me up!

I don't like to say no, I think that will make my tenure shorter and a bad day here is better than a good day at my last hospice.... But I am getting pretty tuckered out.

I did rent a car to use for work. The mileage reimbursement is more than sufficient to cover gas and car rental, the insurance is covered under my regular car insurance, and I don't put that 1,000 miles a week on my personal vehicle. Most weeks I make a tidy profit on mileage reimbursement.

My agency is very supportive and, IMHO, kind. If you are interested in contacting them, please send me an email or PM (I prefer email....) and I'll get you in touch with them. I know they serve the huge hospice to which I am assigned, and I know they have other positions available with that company.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.....
