It was helpful to see the video, but a little confusing to find it from the main page. I am still new enough that I often can't find where I was last time I visited.
So what I really want to know is - how do some people get their replies automatically set up with a quote or a countdown, or how do you get fun information or pictures over in the side box where your user name is? Is that a perk of being a premium member?

Yes, those are perks of becoming a premium member. The quotes and countdowns are part of having a signature (premium perk) as well as the avatar (picture by your username). Hope that helps!
