Hi all, still doing pretty well w/ my food, not as much exercise as I should. Can't get the lead out (more like, the humidity!)

((((((((((guys)))))))))

Now that's just plain mean...I pre-nap before going out for the evening, myself. I prefer to think of it as a result of night shifts over time and not a sign I'm getting older .

A nanny service? That's the best idea I've heard in ages. If they would only send along housekeeping and a cook...

Good job on the food . Nothing like July's humidity to melt you right away.

We had fun today. Took the kids to the arcade, did a lot of that dancing, you know the one where you have to follow the steps. No need for the machine to boo, I say, I was doing the best I could . Anyway, it was fun. We went out for lunch, I had a salad and a little bit of delicious garlicky noodles on top for flavor--just a bit. Very satisfying.

And I'm off this weekend .

Hi gang. Getting back on the bandwagon and survived day #1 of a lower cal/portioned controled vegan diet. Lots of good fruits and vegetables. My problem is I can't go to sleep hungry, so I'm saving a snack of berries just prior to going to bed. Lots of good antioxidant foods today too.

SOUNDS like fun - altho I think I'd prefer doing that WITHOUT an audience!

Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

Hi guys! Aaaaah sleep, I remember that from some time long, long ago, lol!

Sounds like y'all are surviving, same here! Ugh, I feel like a balloon, I have so dropped the ball on the exercise/good eating what with school coming to a close and I need to get back on top of it because I am feeling it now. Blah!

I think I'll start today- I haven't eaten anything yet today, so I can start with a fresh slate! Ok, no more messing around - no junk food for me as of right now! I can do this! I can survive nursing school thus far surely I can get myself back into the health groove! I need to get some groceries tonight so I'll try to keep it on the healthy level while I do that, hopefully having good food around will help me.

(((((((HUGS)))))))))) Everybody!!!!!!!!

I went to a nutrition store owned by a bodybuilder and his "built" wife.

Bought some soy/whey protein shake for women and have been having that for breakfast. Doing low carb the rest of the day (yes, again ).

Too smoky to do much outside exercise but have been walking and biking with my son in the morning when it is not so smoky.

My daughter is still doing the vegan thing and one of her college roommates wants to do the same. Easier to eat healthy with a partner, I think. Someone to hold you accountable and vice versa.

Yotsa Yuck Tweets . . . .(oh, went to a Thai/Vietnam restaurant and had sticky rice and mango prior to the low carb deal . . . .omg that is so good).

Steph, I think I'm with you on the low-carb thing. That always seems to work to give me a boost to healthier eating, so I'll give that a shot. Dang-it! LOL! Oh well, back on track!!!

Have an awesome day!

Thanks. I am having that time of the month and I feel like I gained 20 lb! part of me wants to say the heck w/ it and indulge. I feel so lousy! I took some tylenol .. drinking some ice water ... doing vacation Bible school which hopefully has something I can munch on that won't kill me (I ate a late lunch on purpose).

Sarah I love your new avatar about choosing your reality GOOD ONE!

Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

Worked the last couple of nights, did OK--not great--with the eating.

My babies slept most of the night. I have one we're just waiting until she's big enough for surgery and she is the cutest thing ever. When she wasn't asleep she would just grin up at me. Sometimes I think I have the best job ever .
