That's funny . Kind of a funny thing is that one of my parents has been on Aricept, but forgot to take it for several weeks. Kind of a downward spiral that . Maybe if they had remembered to take it, they would have not forgotten to take it .

Hiker, I probably wasn't satisfied with myself back then. I rarely member. But as I push 50, it's about time I start.

jlsRN, sometimes I wonder if I'm not ready for the Aricept. LOL

Funny - I was thinking of digging thru and finding a "skinny pic" for incentive. I do know that now that I'm older I have to work harder - but - it is possible!

Today was a different story though. Ds2 had his physical education class today. I walked during his PE time. I never know how far I walk. I just start walking until the class is over. Today we were late soooo only 45 minutes of walking in.

I cleaned out around the roses in the back (only under one window). Hey it's a start. I watered the fruit trees on the slope and watered the pear tree too. I think the aphids got ahold of the buds on our pear tree. We only have 3 pears. But that's okay. The leaves look great so I think the tree is doing fine. Off to the garden again. Hopefully another walk tonight. I'll let everyone know. Thanks everyone for letting me babble. It helps me keep my sanity.

Tweety, would it be more appropriate for me to do my babbling in the Journal section? If so, I will move my personal musings over there.
GREAT STUFF you are doing - it's real good just fitting it in and not making a big production of it (exercise) like I usually do. AND I don't mind the babbling, it helps me!

Someone once told me the best way to counter after workout soreness is to stretch several times a day after your workout. I think it helps, plus it feels good .
That is SO TRUE. Even in nursing school I thought I was huge - I was
4'11" and 108 at the most. Now I am about 60 lb more than that. I felt then that I was so so big and disgusting. Looking back, I'm like DANG girl!

I don't expect to necessarily be 108 again (altho I was once 95). I would be happy w/ 125 or something. Still a bit more than "normal" but certainly acceptable.

Nope, didn't get the key, I will get it Monday. I was supposed to do a church thing at 9 and was gonna go over at 8, the church thing got cancelled so I went back to bed. I was exhausted after all day w/ dad. I am going to have to make a better plan w/o the "if's"...

Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

I was looking forward to another salad for dinner and whined because I didn't have any lettuce left. I still cut up a fresh organic beet and ate some of that raw. I recently read that beet juice is good for the blood pressure. I had black beans and brown rice with a bit fat chipotle pepper and my mouth is on fire.

Walked the dogs but otherwise going to watch some TV tonight and call it a day.

Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

Tweety, I've never had a raw beet before, I'm sure it's very...crunchy . I do like them roasted, though.

Zoe, plantar fasciitis? I think I've got a touch of that myself--ouch. Have you tried stretching? I've heard not to go barefoot, but I'm not sure why. I hope you recover quickly.

Walked to the little league game yesterday. Pushed the stroller up the steepest hill (unpaved); about 2/3 up, it finally occurred to me to have my 28 pounder walk instead of being pushed . Sure made the rest of the hill a lot easier . My arms have been feeling it all day. That's good, though, an inadvertent workout .

Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

I'm liking raw beets better than cooked. Kind of like I like raw carrots better than cooked.

I had plantar facitis for about this months this past yeaR. I haven't 100% recovered and it may be a chronic thing. I self-treated. I did stretching, motrin and orthotic inserts by Dr. Sholls.

I love raw beet grated into a salad, along with raw carrot. It makes it look so pretty and adds a different flavor and texture!
