Sometimes it takes a little bit to get to that realization - that there is nothing I can do - but boy what peace can come once I accept that and give it to God (altho I need to do that whether I can change things or not!) (((((((( Gretta )))))))) Sounds like you have a nice strong family which is EVERYthing. As to those who make those comments that negate your feelings - wellll I guess I would not share my feelings with 'em quite so much. That kind of "support" hurts.

Much cheaper to buy a key than a $1700 machine, yes?
I was thinking about that - the warm-up. Good point. I do need to do some good stretching before I go. The room itself is not that big and has lots of equipment in it. So I'd be better off doing my stretching before I leave the house. Then, just a few steps and there I'll be

My poor feet will be happy w/ the ellipticals, I am pretty sure I have plantar fasciitis (sp) in both feet. VERY owie.

Yeah I agree w/ you about prayer having to include the equipment God gave me - can't wish meself thin and healthy for sure! LOL

Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

Hi everyone,

Just checking in.

My girlfriend is helping me homeschool ds2 this week. I think I have been needing the break for a while. While she does this, I am catching up on laundry errands, cleaning off our slope in the back, etc. Those other things you can't do easily with the kids around.

Right now I am exhausted. I want to climb back into bed; however, I want to get the gardening underway. We have a lot of fox tails on the slope. The little prickly things are getting stuck in our clothes and aren't good for pets--which ds2 needs a pet this year. I think our family needs a new little furry addition. It will be a good thing .

Well, I'm off the make the coffee.

My love to everyone and thank you.

yahoo!!! I mean w00t!

I was looking through some pictures last night and found a picture I don't remember taking of me in a bathing suit at the beach with a freind about 8 years ago and damn I looked good. That wasn't that long ago that I couldn't get that thin again, but I'm too lazy to diet right now. Sigh...............

Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

Hi everyone,

Ended up reading a bit and going right back to bed. The coffee just sat there yesterday.

Today was a different story though. Ds2 had his physical education class today. I walked during his PE time. I never know how far I walk. I just start walking until the class is over. Today we were late soooo only 45 minutes of walking in.

I cleaned out around the roses in the back (only under one window). Hey it's a start. I watered the fruit trees on the slope and watered the pear tree too. I think the aphids got ahold of the buds on our pear tree. We only have 3 pears. But that's okay. The leaves look great so I think the tree is doing fine. Off to the garden again. Hopefully another walk tonight. I'll let everyone know. Thanks everyone for letting me babble. It helps me keep my sanity.

Tweety, would it be more appropriate for me to do my babbling in the Journal section? If so, I will move my personal musings over there.

Yes, I think you are right, Zoe. I have been needing a break.

Ahhhh yes, the days when we looked sooooo . . . ummmm . . . HOT!!!!

Alas, it is what it is. Fortunately for you that was 8 years ago. For me, and .

I think the cellulite fairy road over my thighs with a quad--forget the wand! And guess what, a flea would definitely be "off-roading" on my thighs.

Oh well, it is what it is. Moving on from there . . . or should I say up and down and up and down and up . . . .

(We're gonna make it.)

Sigh....guess time goes on and bodies age and change. I actually kept it out for inspiriation. It was 11 years ago when I was in my 30's. It's not like I'm trying to be 16 again. Anyway, I'll put it away. I accept myself. Maybe I'm not 100% happy, but I accpet myself.

Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

You know, the funny thing about looking at old pictures is that, with rare exception, I didn't appreciate how good I looked at the time. I still had issues with how I looked back then; it's only with time that I can look back and say, "Wow, why did I think things were so bad" .

Tweety, accepting yourself is such a "grownup" thing to do . I think it comes easier now than it did in my 20's. Maybe it's just the realization that even if I'm not perfect, nobody else is either.

Sarah, good luck with finals. I aced OB (I've got a lot of kids and didn't really even need to study, other than a quick review of stages), but PEDS was tough for me. All those heart kids; ironically enough, those are a big portion of my patient base now. I guess it was just something I needed to learn, either then or now .

Zoe, have you gotten your key yet? Someone once told me the best way to counter after workout soreness is to stretch several times a day after your workout. I think it helps, plus it feels good .

Gentle, don't you accomplish so much more without little helpers? I love to hear my little ones prattle on, but it is so very relaxing to not have to listen sometimes . I hope things are going better.

At least you don't have to Aricept yourself yet!
