Nice to hear from you sddlnscp!

Steph, be watchful because veganism is in teen girls if often a disguise for eating low cal/eating disorders. On some of the message boards I frequent that are veg*n there's a lot of that there. They claim "i can't eat animals, it's so cruel, but so my dinner will be a carrot and some oatmeal". On the other hand, I wholehearted support a healthy veg*n diet and as you know I lean that way myself. I even recently got some soy candles, vegan soap (did you know most soaps are made from animal fat....gross), and non-leather New Balance shoes and a non-leather belt.

Just say no to Atkins.....gross. All that back and forth high fat/high protein ketosis stuff can't be good for you. End lof lecture, because I know better. LOL

w00t
I am worried about that exact thing Tweets . . .

As to Atkins - I know, I know . . .

Hey I got really good news today! Unbeknownst to me, they set up a brand new gym here where I live - so just across the parking lot! There are like 3 treadmills, exercise bikes, and ellipticals, and, I don't know what to call 'em, thingies you can work out multiple muscle groups on... all brand spankin new equipment - open 5 am to 8 pm - all I have to pay for is a KEY! Isn't that awesome? I have been praying about being more active, and actively looking, and voila! I am so excited!

So awesomely good to hear from you! So sad to hear about the divorce Sarah I have missed you so much!

Hey that sounds like fun! And we can go to Tweet's yoga too. Not the hot yoga. Sorry but my BP is high enough - and in the summer I get enough "hot yoga" in that steel building I call work...

Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

Tweety, Steph and Zoe,

Well, congratulations are in order for all of you huh?

Good job guys. I'm happy for each of you for striving forward.

Me, well, I'm hangin. I've lost weight but not due to exercise as much as stress. and I'm sure there are other icons which I could use but . . . well . . .

Anywhooosie, my situation has not changed. The outlook isn't too good either; but, I am finally coming to terms with it. I can't change my situation. God is helping me to accept it a little better.

I apologize that I can't mention too much, but, I feel part of my soul tearing or leaving or just plain old naked and ashamed when I go through the story. And in all honesty, some of my friends just say, "well, things probably aren't that bad" or "you can't be sure that will happen", or other well meaning remarks that just feel like scum on my already open hurting heart. ya know what I mean?

I need to go get ds1 from school.

I love you guys. Thanks for being there for me. Gentle

Gentle, I'm so sorry. I don't know what's going on with you, but it sounds like you're having an awful go of things. I do know how well-meaning remarks can hurt; esp. from people who haven't gone through what you're going through. I heard plenty of those when I was going through a particularly rough patch several years ago. They meant well and probably would have felt badly if they had known how their remarks hurt, but I wasn't comfortable confronting that.

I hope things get better for you. I'll pray for you if you're comfortable with that. I think it helps--at least give you the strength to get through whatever you're facing.

Zose, that's awesome about the gym . That's the funny thing about praying, you've got to include your feet and head (to seek and recognize answers) as well as your knees. The gym sounds like a perfect set-up. And if your parking lot is a big one, you can count your workout as starting as you walk across it to the gym . Much cheaper to buy a key than a $1700 machine, yes?

Tweety's yoga sounds lovely--although I suspect he's in much better shape than I am . There was an article in our paper recently about the different types of yoga available in our area and the people involved in the "hot" yoga avidly enjoyed it. I guess the only downside was that the room ended up pretty, ummm, fragrant, by the end of the session--esp. the early Sat. morning one . Something to do with all those Friday night toxins....

Stevie, twenty miles is pretty far. Hopefully the scenery is nice? My favorite gym is about 25 minutes away and I just don't get there as much as I'd like because having to get in the car just seems like so much work some days.

I'm grateful that I even have the friends. I am not comfortable "confronting that" either. I appreciate the prayer. Yes, it's one of those rough patches in life. Everyone has their own "rough patch" in life.

I think our family will be much better for having gone through it; but, it's the walking through with good character that concerns me. Sooo far, my character hasn't been very good. I'm trying a little more but, still struggling.

I am finding that I need to turn over some of the concerns to God. I just can't handle all the stuff. It's too much; it involves other people's ideas and opinions and there is nothing I can do. It is strange. I'm better now that I've been over the last 2 months. I think it's because, I am realizing that there isn't too much I can do to change this situation.

thanks for the hug.

(((((gentle))))))

Hiker, the hot yoga rooms were a bit "fragrant". LOL

Not much going on here. I did manage to go to the gym yesterday and am feeling better after having a tiny head cold. Not enough to even say I'm sick, but it drug me down a bit.
