Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

Hi everyone,

Justa checkin in. I seem to have come down with some type of funky virus that isn't quite like the flu, thank goodness. I am awfully tired and needed help with the homeschooling the first day; but, I am slowly recooperating.

Boy do I mean SLOW. What a drag. Oh well, I guess it is what it is, huh? I really should make peace with this thing and rest a bit more, huh?

I'm taking my vitamins and supplements, which is helping wonderfully.

But, dang it, I would rather be going for walks. The weather is wonderful here. I can see the snow covered mountains and the orange poppy covered hills. My 2 little bears and Papa Bear went to skiing this past weekend.

Anywhoosie, the family is fine. The boys , all 3 , have been great to sick ole mama.

{{{{smooches and hugs to everyone}}}}

Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

I'm back. I can't stand my bed or the couch any longer. My body is tired. I think I may have over extended yesterday. I didn't do that much though.

My girlfriend picked up ds1 for school. DH stayed home till the calvary arrived at 9:30am for homeschooling ds2.

Ds2 and I had a good day yesterday. We counted money: pennies, nickles, and dimes. He has to count by 1s, 5s, and 10s by 1st grade. We need to make a 100s project, only I can't figure out what to do. Maybe he should glue 100 googly eyes to a board . I don't know!!!

Yesterday was also continuation of insects. My girlfriend has a millipede named Millie . We need to visit Millie and say hi. I wonder how many legs Millie has? The book says some can have up to 700 little legs. The first time I met one of Millie's relatives, I almost took my shoe off and beat it to death. Luckily for me (and the owner), I restrained myself.

Ds2's music class starts next week. His recreational sports class has probably started but . . . oh well, we'll get there.

Ds1 has been wonderful to his brother and me, while I've been sick. This has been helpful. I know their little personalities are waiting to pop back out though .

Dh restocked the refrigerator for me, and helped get the children corraled this morning.

Well, mama bear needs a little food, more drink, time on the porch, and back to bed. I keep leaning over on the computer.

{{{Hugs, guys.}}}

I enjoyed reading up on your boys and the homeschooling projects.

Had a thought - here we have a program where, if you collect can tabs from the top of soda cans (or do you call it tonic?) you can donate the tabs to the Special Olympics (program for developmentally disabled to participate in sports competitions). Have him collect 100 from school, local market, your work (set up a donation can), etc. Don't know if you have anything like that. Or, 100 coins, and donate them to charity. Or, cut out 100 pix of insects and glue to a poster board, so you could combine w/ other "subjects" in school.

Love ya Gentle and please feel better soon!

I hope you feel better Gentle. It's been bad this year with the bugs.

We had a covered dish at work yesterday and I was a pig. Seriously a pig. Loved every bite. LOL

Today I went to the gym and am eating well. I'm going to a Bingo fundraiser and their serving hot dogs. I will not eat hot dogs, I will not eat hot dogs, I will not eat.............

Tweety I love this: "You can't wait for inspiration, you have to go after it with a club." I need to post it somewhere!!

What is the "after cough mumble thing"?

I used to have horrible wheezing when I was smoking, when I would lay down at night. I would have to huff and cough and clear and cough some more before it would stop, so I could go to sleep.

I quit when I found out I have early airway disease (I assume like an asthma or emphysema). I'm anxious to find out if it has reversed itself like they said it might. I sure don't wheeze like that anymore! (but still SOB on exertion at times, prob. due to the wt.)

Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

Gentle. I hope I don't have to get sick to loose the weight. Unfortunatley, I'm one of those odd people that can eat through illness. I've never been sick to where I can't eat. Even when vomiting I get hungry not to long after. Get well soon.

Zoe, I can't remember where I heard that phrase the other day, but I love it.

I think I'm going to go for the weight loss today. I have the healthy eating and exercise down. Time to try to tackle those last 10 pounds while I'm still young. Wish me luck.

(((((((((((((( Tweety!!! ))))))))))) Good luck!

Maybe we should start carrying around a bat as a visual reminder to ourselves to "go for it!" ha ha

But that probably wouldn't go over too good eh?
