Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

Exercise is mental health therapy for me.

So, now that I'm off the induction of Atkins, my cravings are all back. I ate 3 bowls of that fantastic chili and just now ate a pudding. Last week I had NO hunger at all.

Can you blame me for wanting to stay on induction????

I did jog today - it was so nice outside that my son and I headed over to the track.

Isn't it weird how that happens, the cravings coming back?

I was out at a place today where you can sit and have "tea" - and they make those little cucumber sandwiches and etc, and cookies, and it was just such a nice place, and my friend and I were VERY hungry - I said, wellllll I can probably just have a couple little sandwiches and be ok - TILL WE SAW THE PRICES! thank God LOL - we had JUST tea - and then went out to eat where I got something LEGAL.

I've heard it compared to getting sober/clean, quitting smoking, etc., not being able to have that "first drink" or "first smoke" etc., or it will kick in the craving. Only thing is, with eating, we have to let the lion out of the cage 3 x a day (at least) - it comes out hungry - and we are supposed to make it "eat nice"??? As long as I stay away from that sugar and flour I'm fine - but just the littlest thing "off", or like with you, too many other carbs, it gets my motor running and I just want MORE! Oh I remember that feeling and I just don't want to GO THERE!

See . . I love food. My dh eats to live and I live to eat, sorta.

And when I eat something that is especially good, I usually end up having more than one helping. Hence the 3 bowls of chili. Now, the chili has healthy things BUT you can't negate the calories, good or bad.

And it's mostly carbs, right? Even if it's good carbs ... Maybe that is what stirred up the cravings?

I do that when I make pea soup (when it comes out right I should say - LAST time it was only so-so). Anyway - I keep eating and eating and eating it til it's gone ... What a world, what a world ...

Eh, wait - yep, wicked witch has been eating the pea soup too!

I LOVE pea soup. Actually, I love soup. Especially those with broths.

Yepper, that is what I look like when I finish off 3 bowls of pea soup. The Wicked Witch.

Good job Jay!

Sarah, good luck with your pact. Haivng a buddy to do it with is a good idea.

Zoe, I'm back up a couple myself. Let's not beat ourselves up.

Steph. thatnks for the review, I'll probably not go see it. Keep up the good work!

Liz, nice to see you, good luck with the holidays. It's tough for us dieters but even tougher if your Diabetic, I'm sure.

Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

Well, no wt loss for me this week. Aunt Flo was visiting, so you know how that goes. At least I didn't gain.

I want to lose 5 more pounds by Thanksgiving. I am back to my post-pregnancy wt, but want to eventually get all the way back to pre-pregnancy.

Back on the wagon I go.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
