Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

You guys are right, this is truly a hard time of year, all sorts of home-made goodies and candy, yikes! Well, I have been bad with the chocolate long enough, so I resolve to stay away from chocolate now!

Sorry I have been missing again, I have been working on a slow and agonizing death by care plans, LOL! But, I have finally beat the monster and submitted it, hopefully in some type of organized manner that my teacher will appreciate, hehe!

Clinicals were a blast as always! I love it, love it, love it!!! I can't wait until I am a nurse and get to go off to that job every day, WooHoo!!! I just keep telling myself . . . 10 more months, 10 more months, 10 more months!!! I can do this! I am still doing great grade-wise, but wow I am exhausted, hehe, as I know all of you understand and can relate to. Thank goodness for friends!

Ok y'all, have a happy, healthy day! I'm off to my kiddos and I'm putting all of my books up for the evening.

Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

Hey Everyone,
Hope everyone is doing well. Its been awhile, again, since I logged in. Was having trouble logging in and then I've been busy trying for a job with IHS which is a slow and tedious process, but I think I am done.
I have been trying to be good with all the holiday stuff coming up, been looking on-line for some diabetic recipes. Something I need, but don't have many of yet. If you have some to share, please do. I get to cook this year...am very excited, haven't had Thanksgiving off with my family in a while. Husband will be working, but have invited neighbors that would otherwise go out to eat or be alone.
Well, need to run.....hope I can get online again later.
Liz

Aww, thanks Zoe! It's so good to see you too! Every single time I walk into clinicals it always amazes me how pumped I am to be there. Even on days when it's rough or my patient gets discharged right off the bat, I am still thrilled to be there. I am not one to just do my work, I am the one who does all of my work and then runs around and helps everybody else because I just don't want to sit still, I want to take it all in and I'm there to help. It's so great!

Well, my friend and I made a pact yesterday, no more bad food starting today! My goal is to lose one more size before my anniversary (December 5th) and I'm not gonna make it if I keep eating junk food. I am still doing great with the exercise, not missing a day, although we have cut down to only 30 minutes a day, but still, we're doing it, but the food I am having issues with. So, today I will be good and from here-on I will be good! (And I'm saying that out loud so that perhaps it will make me stick to it, hehe.)

We found an old weight room at our locked up and almost never used community building with a stair stepper, some weight machines and a nordic-track type thing in it, so we hit that up yesterday as part of our walk and it was great! The stair stepper really kicked my tail, so I think I'm gonna start doing that more often.

Well y'all, hope you have a happy, healthy day! I'm excited because I have a 3-day weekend and I actually don't have anything due, so I can do some reading, but it will be low-stress, WooHoo!!!

Wow, that is great jay!

I had popcorn with that movie theater "butter" last night . . a large one. We saw "The Bee Movie" . . . my 6 y.o. loved it but his 22 y.o. bro and I thought it was slow . .. only a couple of lol moments. And the theater was basically empty. About 5 families.

I'm not losing but I'm not gaining. Still trying to stay low-bad-carbs. And exercising. My jeans are loose - that is good. The overhang is less, that is GREAT.

It's good to have goals!

I weighed myself, I am 1-2 pounds up in a week, sigh... must be because I was lax about my sodium intake this week Plus I think I'm getting another period (already!) So, automatically, because the weight is up, I want to say "Oh well, I can have thus and such, it doesn't matter..."

Except it does ...

I am inspired by you my deah! and congrats on the exercise!

You've always been very disciplined about the exercise! I admire that, Steph!
