Yuck. Well, it always feels bad to tell somebody but it feels worse to have to keep seeing it ... (barf)

Steph, I know how you feel, but the body needs a rest too. I hope to go to the gym or yoga tonight. I can't decide which but leaning towards the gym and to yoga on Sunday.

Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

Hi all!
Good to be back!!! Just finished our long distance move. Back to city life instead of small town desert life. DH and I are surprised at how easy the transition has been. We are renting a house for the time being - drama there, basement flooded twice in the last 10 days. Sewer line to street had tree roots. Got a new washer out of the deal though (thought it was the source of flooding - it wasn't, but it was pronounced DOA anyway). The move and drama have put me a bit behind in school (pharmacology this time), but I'm not working yet so I have a bit of time to catch up. I do need to find some local nurses to do presentations to for school. I'm thinking I might look into local nursing homes as a resource there.
Moving in combo with school is VERY influencial in expanding the ol' waistline! The good news is I can now get into a yoga class, not available before. Now that the move & flood are over, no more excuses to eat out every night! Got some fish in the freezer to grill - as soon as DH assembles the grill, lol! Went for a walk last night before dinner, a new 'plan A' we are starting for the daily routine. It wasn't long enough, but it was a start.
Good to see y'all again!!!

Welcome back Blue! Which class are you taking now? I'm so happy to be done. Glad you're back on plan. Moving and school are definately good reasons to give yourself a break.

I'm taking a break today myself. Just relaxing and having ramen noodles for supper. Comfort food.

Hi everyone- I was baaad Tuesday & Wednesday. I got back on track yesterday, thank goodness. No weight loss since the 10 pound mark. I guess it's a good thing, though. At least I learned the ramifications of eating badly even 2 days of the week. I'm in it for the long haul, so I guess 2 days out of many more to come isn't that bad.
Congrats to those who are on target for the week. A big 'whoot' for you all!

Pharmacology right now. Just finished Pathophysiology - hell to do in 7 weeks. Glad it is over.
Hit the scale this morning, news wasn't near as bad as I had thought. Down 3 lbs. from last week, but still up from where I was 6 months ago. Will be checking out a couple yoga centers today - one lists yoga and tai chi, might try there first. DH even expressed possible interest in tai chi. Proof that miracles do still occur!!!
Off to get the day rolling!

LOL! She's actually the contradiction to the rule on bathing, she begs for a bath every night. She's one of those kids that, the second she hears the bath water running, she is stripping, be it in the middle of the living room, the kitchen, wherever. We can never get away with a night of not giving her a bath because she tells us when it's bath time. She's a nut.

She'll be in it about 6 weeks. Could be worse, but plenty long enough to drive us insane, LOL! She's doing good though, she's doing lots of coloring (well, scribbling, but 'ya know) and I have most of her books memorized now.

Well, I was better with the food consumption yesterday, I only ate a few french-fries at lunch instead of a huge amount and skipped the cheeseburger. I had trail-mix in the evening. Not exactly health food, but waaaaay better than what I had been doing.

I went and did a nice 45 minute walk/run after class last night, so that was good, I am keeping up with the exercising for sure!

Tweety, the tuna salad sounded great, my mouth is watering now, LOL! Glad you are taking a break and enjoying the Ramen noodles, we all need those days!

Steph, I know what you mean, I get rather blue myself if I skip the exercise part. It's funny, I never thought I'd become an exercise junkie, but I am. I get lazy and don't want to do it, but I completely feel like crud if I don't, so I buck it up and go every day and I always feel better when I'm done.

Hi Blue - congrats on surviving the move! We did Patho in 7 weeks too, it was crazy, but so much fun! I loved that class! How's Pharmacology coming? What degree are you working toward? I didn't realize you were in school (I am way behind on postings, sorry, my bad).

Hi Fire - you're right, 2 days is not much in the big scheme of thing, don't sweat the small stuff! I have decided I need to jump off the wagon sometimes and then hop back on because if I tell myself I'm never gonna do that, it's like the whole plan backfires on me!

Hi everybody and anybody I may have missed!

Hope y'all are having a happy, healthy day! Back to work and studying for me!

Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

My 6 year old is the same way - and he loves a bath in the morning too. It has something to do with how cold the house is though . . a nice warm bath is good.

Off to work out - sigh . . . .getting a bit bored with the gym. Plus it is 17 miles away.

Today is the culmination of "Red Ribbon Week" here . . .anti-drug and smoking and supposedly alcohol. My 6 year old told me that he will never smoke cigs or use drugs but he "probably will drink beer like Daddy".

It was also "Walk to School" day. We almost always walk - the school is just behind our house, down a little hill and then up a little hill. The school bus dropped off the bus kids at our firehall and the k-garten teachers walked up to get them and walked back.

They have two recesses . . the kids run and run and run.

Good news . . .

steph

Re: Healthier Living Thread Part V

That's awesome Steph! I love the idea of walking the kiddos to school, that's nice. I think I would get sick of the gym routine though. Walking seems to work well for me, I get fresh air, and quiet time to myself and even though it's repetative, it's very relaxing for me.

I know what you mean with the kiddos, they aren't innocent very long. My friend has a 6 year old who thinks that beer is just awesome because his uncle drinks beer. Sigh. I'm sure my time is coming with that soon. Bigger Sigh. We shall survive this too though . . .
