Re: Healthier Living Support Thread: PART TWO!

Hey Zoe! Good to see you. I am glad you are feeling better. It is so hard when we are emotionally drained, picking up the pieces seems endless and sooooo far away. ((((HUGS)))) I know what you mean about the weight too - sometimes it is not so bad and other times it seems like harder work than anything else! I am still stuck at a standpoint, which I have been for quite a while, so hopefully I will get back to actually going down with the numbers soon.

By the way - sddlnscp is all my initials - yes, I have bizarre parents - LOL!

Hahahahaha! That's funny.

I wonder where all our healthy friends have gone? Hmm. I was good yesterday - ate a big 'ol salad for lunch and then had a small taco with a low-carb tortilla shell for supper. Yummy.

I'm having trouble with the food thang, am on depakote which can make you gain weight, I know one lady who gained 80 lb in one year on it! I try not to make awful choices too often and be a little more active. My bike is ready to go (temps are 58-60 sometimes) but I am too lazy to carry it downstairs and back up (2nd floor apt). I am walking a little though!

Re: Healthier Living Support Thread: PART TWO!

I know what you mean with the food. I have some really great days (like the day before yesterday which was healthy salad and tacos and stuff). But I also have some bad days (stupid office party yesterday = cup cakes, cookies, jellybeans, etc. etc. etc.). I am getting motivated to start running of all things (don't know why, I have never been a runner in my entire life), so maybe I'll do that here when the temp climbs up just a wee bit more. I need to buy myself some tennis-shoes for that so I don't have any excuses. I don't blame you about not wanting to haul your bike around - at least you are walking, that is great!!!

Sounds like your temps are somewhat like ours -

I too have thought I'd like to become a runner - and never have before. I always talk myself out of it.. "Need new shoes", "have to build myself up to it" "need a better bra" LOLOL - there is always an excuse!

Great candy is PRUNES - I keep them in the fridge. Only thing is you don't want to be in public for about 24 hrs afterward, ROFL!

ROFL Zoe - that is a good idea - I should do that, I love prunes!!! Yeah - I have the exact same excuses with the running, plus I add . . . need to stay home with the kids. Ha - as if their father wouldn't watch them while I run (they are too little). Oh well - maybe tonight I will when I get home, it is a pretty day. I have been a total chocoholic today and it was bad. I've got to quit that - I know it's PMS, but it is getting the best of me. I need to really try to be better. Think maybe I'm needing a 'good eating' break - maybe will splurge and eat what I want this weekend - that usually gives me the motivation to 'start fresh' on Monday - we will try it.

Have a great weekend!

Hi sddlnscp (sorry all I can think is "saddle soap" lol!)

Sometimes a "good eating" break can help me and other times it sucks me into the addiction cycle, especially the stupid sugar/flour thing ( I get actual WITHDRAWAL if I eat a lot of those products and have to get a "fix"! Queer, huh?)

I hope you have a good Monday and y'know shame is a tool of the devil (whether you believe there is an actual one or not - shame is not helpful AT ALL! Did it ever help you to change ANYTHING?)

So, don't "should all over yourself" as they say in AA!

xo
