Re: Healthier Living Support Thread: PART TWO!

I find it strange that they are open. Those poor workers open for the anal retentive gym bunnies who can't miss a day of workout. John's not like that he only works out three times a week, every Sat. & Sun. and once during the week. They are only open for four hours from 8-12, so at least the kids working there can have a holiday.

Re: Healthier Living Support Thread: PART TWO!

I already cooked three dishes-moist corn bread, cranberry jello mold, noodle pudding-and the sweet potato casserole is in process. I have to cook everything a few days before, and then on Thanksgiving, it is just the turkey and meat. Otherwise I feel too stressed out. I bought everything as low fat as I could find, but I tend to forget all that on holidays. I feel better once I get started with the cooking, not like so much is in front of me. Haven't started school yet, so it isn't as stressful as it would have been. I get stressed easily-unfortunately-need to start using my treadmill after this holdiay for sure. Krisssy

This is the way to do it.

I took out my turkey on Sunday and put it in the tub

Today, it was nice and defrosted, so I went ahead and seasoned it with all my caribbean spices. Tomorrow I will "touch it up" , stuff it and into the oven it goes. Just hope it tastes good.

Cool Re: Healthier Living Support Thread: PART TWO!

Deb....I haven't made the chowder yet, but when I do I'll be sure and post how dee-licious I know it's going to be. Wish I had my own kitchen to cook in, but for now must make due with wherever I'm hanging out these days. Geesh! Guess there's a first time for everything, and I'm pretty much "homeless" right now. Nary to worry...my God will save me. I know HE will because I'm not doing a good job of saving myself from financial ruins this entire past year.

I HATE 2005, and will get drunk with joy when it's OVERRRRRRRR!!!! :hatparty:

Re: Healthier Living Support Thread: PART TWO!

I am just plain odd.....

I had seasoned my turkey, and now it is drowning in chicken broth with wine overnight. I am going to take it out in the morning and season it again

I guess, I am nervous about it tasting bad.

Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone

Re: Healthier Living Support Thread: PART TWO!

Jess I am sure it will be delicious-the trick is to cover it with ALUMINUM FOIL for the first 1-2 hours (depending on the size of the turkey)-and cook slowly at 325! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Krisssy

I just thaw mine and season and stuff in the a.m. (about 6) and let er roast (upside down so the breast meat is very juicy). Not at all hard.

O.K. I survived the pig out day. Eating at 2pm and again last night around 10pm.

Going to be better today.

I am too lazy to go back (wish there was a way to click on a link to the referenced post, that would be nice eh?)

I SURELY wasn't mad at you, I think I was trying to joke about "mean" versus "meal" - I am so sorry if I threw you off! Glad you asked!

As to the other stuff I wrote, it was general hostility toward having to work on my food rather than anything toward you, I am SO SORRY! Forgive me?
