Gonna have to try that sauce Deb.
What do I do when I hit a hard patch? If I can make myself just get some kind of exercise, it pulls me out it. But I don't always succeed.
I don't think there is a magic spell . . . . sometimes something works for you and sometimes it doesn't. Just forgive yourself for the rough patch and go on.
Last time I checked, we aren't perfect.

Finally peeking into the new thread to say "hi." Not sure what my status is on the healthy living lately... I've been better about not stepping on the scale, but not so good on the working out and food is iffy. Oh well, it's a process. Did have a delicious dinner last night... I had some marinara sauce I'd made a while back and put that over some Barilla Plus spaghetti. I really like that stuff, it doesn't taste all that far off from regular pasta but has more fiber and protein since it's made with flaxseed, chick peas, etc. I've tried whole wheat pasta before but decided I'd rather chew on the box it came in, so this is a good compromise. Also had a baby spinach, red pepper, grape tomato, and cucumber salad with fresh French vinaigrette dressing, and garlic bread made with whole wheat flour (not 100% but at least a little healthier than regular white bread). Enjoyed a glass of red wine, too. It was very satisfying.
Deb, I wouldn't fret over the comfort food dinner. I think we need to indulge every once in a while, and as you said, you felt very satisfied afterwards. A true falling-off-the-wagon moment is when you go through the kitchen, or grocery store, or fast-food drive-thru and get a bunch of stuff you don't really want and don't derive any true joy from. The satisfaction signals that this was simply a good meal. Go back to your healthier habits today, and don't spend any time regretting that one meal.

Deb, I wish I had a good answer to the QOD, because I'm so tired of school right now I really want to quit. I'm overwhelmed with the reading and can't bring myself to get enthused to do it, listen to the lectures, and study for the test. Hopefully, it's just a slump that I can ride out. Only four more weeks until a break, but it's a bit much for me right now.
Plus my diet this week being alone has been horribly crappy and I haven't worked out and I'm depressed. Somebody slap me please.
Seriously, I'm o.k. Probably just PMS.
I think what works for me is just starting over, even if I have to start over daily, or several times a day. Putting the past failures and mistakes behind and beginning a new day with lessons learned.
So tonights it's salmon, veggies, and beans with tomatoes with PR spices. Then tomorrow's another day. But I still ain't studying.
Hope this isn't a bummer, but if I can't be honest with where I'm at, then what's the point of this thread. LOL

O.K. so I did listen to a lecture and take some notes, so I'm that much less behind. Still behind, but better off.
