Re: Getting in shape/Losing weight in pre-nursing/NS support thread

I would love to join also. I was a daycare provider for 8 years and ate everything the kids did not. I shot way up and now am having problems of my own. I lost 40 pounds and seem to have hit a slump. I too have stopped drinking pop/soda and started eating breakfast (my biggest problem) anyway I started watching the biggest loser and decide that I could do this more commitedly and started walking while the kids played at the park, and drinking water, and always always always keep track of what I eat because I have a tendency to graze.
but anyway I would to have real people to talk about something that they really understand losing weight while living a--REAL LIFE---

Congrats to Ali!!! It was so good to see a woman win!

I agree Maine she is TINY or should I say tiny! That show is so inspiring! Did ya'll try to guess the weight they were going to be when they stood on the scale? I did and actually I was pretty close. I guess 120 for Ali.....Wow amazing 234 to 122!

This week is going much better. I am really watching the food and doing the exercise so hopefully I will be on the board!

Have a great day everyone!

Piglet

Welcome new guys!

Re: Getting in shape/Losing weight in pre-nursing/NS support thread

Hello Fellow Fluffies, welcome!

So, this week isn't starting off so hot guys. I didn't get to the gym on Monday, had some issues I had to take care of but I promise I'm going tonight. I've been pretty good with the food, although I kind of got addicted to Vitamin Water and I just now paid attention to the calories in those puppies....now I limit myself to one a day. I haven't had soda in months but I'll keep up the pledge with you guys. I found my new love, Special K cereal bars so those help fight off the munchies.

So how is everyone doing today?

Re: Getting in shape/Losing weight in pre-nursing/NS support thread

Count me in... I am actually doing Weight Watchers and have lost 18lbs. It is getting very frustrating though because the 2lbs that are stopping me from that 20lb mark are NOT coming off. That along with Micro h*@# (lol) and the impending doom of starting nursing school in the fall is all making it difficult to say on track.

Anyway, I definitely think the support will help.

As far as some quick advice: I have been going the gym about three nights a week with my best friend and having an exercise buddy REALLY helps. We know that the other is depending on us to get it together and get to the gym.

Good luck to all!!

Re: Getting in shape/Losing weight in pre-nursing/NS support thread

So many people tell me they gain weight during nursing school, and it terrifies me! This is one of the biggest reasons I want to get this weight off now!
A friend told me that the Biggest Loser exercise DVD's were really tough. Of course, I thought she was nuts - how hard could it be? Those folks are really large.

Well let me tell you ------ it was HARD!!!!!! And I only did the beginner level! My fanny and my thighs are KILLING ME!!!!!!!!!!

I won't be doing that again for a few days. What a workout!

Besides my sore buns, this week is going really well. I am just so done with being too heavy the food choices are coming easily for me (for now anyway :-)

Maine, Way to go with pushing yourself through the workout. If I'm not a little sore after a workout I don't feel like it was worth it.

Those food choices are the hard part for me right now. When I first started a couple of months ago, I did SO good. Now, it's a different story... sometimes all that bad food just calls my name, LOUD!
Slowly but surely I'm getting back in track!

When we all get skinny and sexy(er) and graduate from NS, we should take a cruise and get matching bikinis.

Re: Getting in shape/Losing weight in pre-nursing/NS support thread

Welcome to our group Texas, Angelz and kcalhoun,

kcalhoun, congrats on the 18 lbs so far!! That is wonderful!! There are a few of us here that are doing WW, myself included.

Maine, dh and I were both guessing each time they went on the scale too.

What did you all think about Mark missing the 100,000 by 1 lb? I do like Mark but I'm glad Bernie won.

OH! and I found out today I got a 100% on my respiratory/digestive test in ANP 2! Yay!!

In lab we are dissecting our fetal pigs. We named her Petunia not very orginal, I know.

I have been bad today and have not eaten much. Only a bag of pretzels out of the vending machine. At least it was a good choice. But, I know from experience I'm probably setting myself up for a binge by not eating enough.

The weather here is gorgeous!! I can't wait to walk. I may go before dh gets home from work. Then go again with him. I got my walk in last night so that was good. and we increased it to 45 minutes. but it was kind of broken up because we ran into a friend at the park and we stopped to chat. Oh well.

Keep up the good work everyone!
