I have something for you guys to ponder, I've heard that you need to reduce 'X' amount of calories a day to lose weight and I've heard that you can do it by the week too. Like if you had a 'naughty' day you could make up for it the next day? Anyway hear anything like this?

Anyway, today is another day, right? I hope everyone has a great week and keep up the good work and support. I'm loving it.
3500 calories =1lb

I have been told by many sources and also in biggest looser books there are 2 ways to do this.

1. Burn 3500 calories through ADL's or exercise
2. Decrease calorie intake by 3500

my scales are saying 3 lbs for the week so thats a good start but i have to drink more water...being gone all day makes it hard...b/c i like ice cold water...so that is something i am goin to set a goal for this week...and im goin to cut out all soft drinks for this week including diet which i drink all the time so that is a goal for this week...i know it will help so much...anyone else want to make that pledge with me??? its a big one but i know i can do it for one week.

EXCELLENT! Tullosrn! That is fantastic three pounds is a lot in a week! The water thing is hard even though I am a water drinker. I started a few months ago putting the flavor packs in the bottled water and now I am addicted. WW says you need at least three real 8 oz glasses of just water. I am going to shoot for that goal too!

Excellent!

tullosrn congrats you are doing fantastic!

I am a water drinker, too. But, fot some reason it has been tough getting what I am suppose to have. I bought a great big water bottle from walmart. But, that really hasn't helped either. i prefer it ice cold tool

I'm making chicken chilli for dinner, I'll let yo know how it was

Have a great week everyone!

Re: Getting in shape/Losing weight in pre-nursing/NS support thread

Okay... weigh in shows 5lbs lost this past week. I will continue to weigh in on Thursdays and I will post on Monday what the weight loss is.

I usually keep my points to the minimum number of points and use my bonus points for that 1 day I take off. Didn't work out yesterday. I was sore from the weekend workouts and decided to give my body a rest. I will workout today though.

Way to go Nightbloom! 5 pounds you are the winner of last weeks weigh in! That is fantastic.

I lost no weight last week but I did not do a very good job with my points. This week I am trying your approach with using only the points allowed a day. I am not using the points I earn from exercise or the additional ones you get per week. My day off is going to be Sunday as we are celebrating my son's birthday. I can't believe he will be 10.....he is my baby. Where does the time go!

Just a reminder that Biggest Loser Finale is on tonight!

So who do ya'll think it's going to be! How small do you think Allie is now! WOW! She was tiny before the finals! I really want to see a woman win this time, although I think they all deserve it!

I can't wait!
