Holistic Healh Pactitioner?

After I start my LPN in 9-05, II will be starting HHP classes one weekend a month for one year. I am so excited but wonder where I will get a job! I wonder how much credibility I will have as a HHP wihtout having my LPN. I could bypass the LPN and get my massage therapist cert. instead. I am currently a cna in ltc and am dissappointed with what I see LPN's doing at my facility. That is not what I had in mind. I want to help people heal in body, mind and spirit. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

NurseHopeful:

Tell me what HHP; I am guessing it is Home Health Provider???

I have my RN and am currently working towards my CMT. What is best for you depends on your situation, dreams, etc. For me, I needed to go through the " Nursing Dream" first and it is evolving more into a desire to do wellness more then Hospital / LTC work. I know what you mean about being a true "healer" and you will find that as a massage therapist most likely. I too have had "moments" while do the hospital /LT thing but I still needed to walk the walk.

Perhaps some other colleagues will add some more suggestions....

Tis your life though darling... and you can perhaps just do it all

good luck to you and let us know how you are doing

Nightngale,
Thanks for your response. HHP is short for Holistic Health Practitioner. That is the name of the program I would like to get a certificate in.

Hello, NurseHopeful! Just found your post, and it's obviously 3 years later. I'm very excited to hear, how things turned out for you, in the LPN program area, and the Holistic Healthcare Practitioner area! I am an LPN, and am very interested in the Holistic Heathcare Practitioner career arena. Look forward to hearing from you!
