On Healing Presence

Great article in Nursing Spectrum on

JoEllen Koerner, RN On Healing Presence

Terri Pauser Wolf, RN, BSN
Masthead Date October 24, 2005

The new frontier is bringing healing presence back into the work of nursing to balance a system that is out of control. First, we need to stop treating nurses like replaceable parts and realize that the true healing environment is the nurse.

Re: On Healing Presence

Yes, yes...I worry so that,in our mechanistic world, we have lost sight of this. Alas, I see now that it's the hospice volunteer that seems to do so much of the real healing. While that's a good thing, how can we be more active in getting this message across to the powers that be.

Re: On Healing Presence

Very good article. Jo Ellen Koerner is a smart lady to listen and bring back healing presence to the modern world. Her article speaks true to all that works with those that need our help.
