Equine assisted psychotherapy for addiction

“Addicts and alcoholics have a tendency to rely on magical thinking,” she said. “They don’t realize the impact they have when they approach people. But you can’t fake it with a horse. They look right into your soul.”

“There is something very powerful about horses,” Livingston said. “When a horse backs away from them [the men], it’s a powerful thing.”

Wow. Too bad this type of therapy weren't employed more often; it sounds wonderful. I am a whole-hearted believer in animal therapy.
