I want to attend a training program on dialysis treatments.
Where can I train?
Which one offers the best training?
How much is the program fee?
How long is the training?

I've been looking on the website of National Kidney and Transplant Institute but can't find any info about it. If you can refer training centers and their contact numbers, I would highly appreciate them.

Please note that the Dialysis training done here in the PI is not accepted in the US if your purpose is the certification. Personally have friends that underwent these dialysis trainings and when they went to the US (to undergo AOS) and applied to one of the well known Dialysis center chains there they didn't accept it but they were told that they are more than willing to train them at no cost to them. He has no prior experience.

Friends who applied for an agency here in the PI (for consular processing) specializing in recruiting specifically for dialysis nurses was told the same and that they prefer 2 years experience instead of just a certification.

If you will be undergoing CP, I would recommend to check out the few agencies here that specializes in recruiting dialysis nurses. They almost always have the same requirement and they say the same thing. They want the 2 years experience instead while those who looks for direct employment in the US and have the ability to do AOS only needs to undergo the center's training program at no cost to them and they are already given the prevailing wage as a regular staff even though they are still under going the training program.

So, before undergoing any training programs here, make sure that you can actually use the certification they are giving out. Needless to say, all my friends wasn't able to use their certifications and while they never told me the exact fee for the training program, they always complained that it was very expensive and they all concurred that it was a waste of their time and money.

It is expensive. My friend underwent if for P8000 for 2 months. For her, she just wanted to keep her hands busy while waiting for the results of the local NLE.

Thanks stephensonwater. I already contacted NKTI and it costs 20k for a 6-month training. They will have one that will start sometime February next year.

To bonesgilmore, where did your friend train? I also heard of such 8k worth of training, but it's for 3 months. I am yet to inquire more about this. I hope you could provide me with more info. Thank you for the help.

Hi lawrence. I am aware of that fact. Thank you for the reminder and for always having a ready hand to anyone in need. I adore what you and suzanne do... It's just that I'm particularly interested in this field of nursing and I want to explore it and be a renal nurse someday, here or wherever.

I don't think learning will be a waste of time and money. As they say, knowledge is power.

bebe13, the training is @ metropolitan hospital @ Masangkay, Sta. cruz, Manila. The recent one started last july 25 but maybe they have another one.
