To those who have taken both exams, w/c is harder: NLE or NCLEX?
|
|
hi! just want to hear from both sides of the coin whether which one is harder, the local board or nclex? some says nclex is easier than NLE because there is no community health nursing in the exam but some says NCLEX is harder because it's more on application.geez, i'm confused.

There is really no comparison to the two exams. They are completely differnent in every aspect and actually have the same passing rates. About 44% for both the NLE as well as the NCLEX exam as a foreign-trained nurse.

they really cannot be compared since the nclex is computer-adaptive. but personally, i'd say the nclex is harder. i was in shock after the computer screen turned blue.

NCLEX is a licensing exam, you need to meet the requirements of the new state before you would be able to write the exam for them. The exam is also not specific to any one state, it is a national exam and there is no truth to the rumor that it is harder for one state over another. The exam actually does not know which state that you are writing it for.
You may wish to consider another state since CA does not issue a license without a SSN#, and their passing letter is only valid for three years.

The exams are completely differenty and you have no idea of the type of questions that you are going to get on the NCLEX exam; since it is a computer based exam, it will assign you questions based on how you answered the previous ones.
Each person is going to feel different about these two exams, also depends on the type of training that one had.
But they both require completely different preparation to be able to pass each exam.

both exams are difficult, because it is a licensure exam. it is supposed to test your knowledge in the nursing field. HTH

Any exam will be hard if you don't study.

Hello all,
Like Suzanne says, it is a nationwide test. However, each state has requirements that vary. Some are easier than others, but once you are a nurse in X state, getting a license in other states is easy. It's called "endorsement" from one state to another.
