Hello...

i am a fresh nursing graduate and also a recent board passer.. i am thinking of applying in medical city there in pasig... I was told that the written exam there for you to have an interview is really hard. just wanna ask how hard it really is? and is it true that you will be
interview three times? im just curious and just would like to add some information before i go for it.... thanks..

i have no idea, but i believe it would be difficult to apply there because its one of the top hospitals here in the country. And it would be harder too if you dont know someone who can "recommend" you (backer). So if i were you, review your notes study hard.

Im a recent board passer too and i dont have plans yet to work here as a nurse (S L A V E R Y) i am waiting for my ATT im preparing for the NCLEX

a friend cried a bucket when medical city turned her down why? because accdg to them she lacked an inch of their ht req't. she was 5'1'. what made her disappointed was they accepted her apllication, made her took the written exam, passed it and made her wait for their call for her interview. when she inquired about her status, that's what they told her. sad no?

if you follow the minimun requirments for you to enter nursing professon suppposed to be height must be included, how can you lift some equipments necessary for you to do if your not heigth does not reach the cabinets or storage of the hospital , im not mean here but i think lets face the reality.

Not to hijack the original post and get off topic but I personally think the height requirement is outright discrimination. It is also total bullcrap to say that height can be a hindrance to a successful nursing career. There are far shorter nurses here in the US who are able to perform their duties without problems. Why should any nurse have to reach over a shelf that is 6 feet tall without having to use an adaptive equipment such as a safety ladder? that is just asking for an injury and is totally against workplace safety standards. By the way, I am not crying bloody murder because I'm short, I'm actually 5 foot, 11 inches and taller than average as far as US nurses of all races are concerned. I just feel that certain rules are so outdated and never challenged even when they are obviously out of line with common sense.

I agree!!!! I'm 4"9' and it doesn't hinder me to do things I need to do! Yes the IV pole is high but come on! Nurses are resourceful remember? I also have a hard time lifting because my back aches easily, but hey...... that's why we are being taught with body mechanics and with the aide of other tools to make our work easiers! Sometimes this hieght requirements is just one of our country's discimination. When you see a tall person, yes its pleasing to look at that person especially when your looking for a job. I hope institutions would also look at the IQ, EQ and skills that a person have!

uhm..uhm...not good! if ure thinkn that to work here in the Phil is a form of slavery i guess ure missing out the true meaning of the nursing profession...you dont know what lies ahead...but still gudluck to you...

agree with you...nursing profession in the Phils is not a form of slavery...think you have to pursue another career if thats what you think....
