Please read --- LPN programs in the Philippines
|
|
We are quite aware that these programs are being offered in your country, however, you cannot get a visa to work anywhere with that license. Licenses require a visa to be able to be used in other countries. We do not have a shortage of LPNs/LVNs in the US, no matter what you may be hearing with the advertisements from some of these programs.
And they may tell you that there are temporary visas available for you and even mention the H2-B visa. This is not a valid visa for a nurse for the US in any capacity, it is used for unskilled workers coming over for a short time only. For some of these unscrupulous agencies trying to bring you over on one of these, means that they are bringing you over by providing fraudulent information to immigration and makes you subject to being deported for a period of not less than ten years.
The only one that is going to make money from these programs are the school owners.
This license will only be accepted in the US and permit one to work providing that they hold a green card or are a US citizen. If you are planning to go this route to get a visa for the US, please understand that you will be holding a training that will not get you a job. Your own country does not recognize it for licensure either.
The only degree for nursing that is valid to have a chance of a green card is the BSN. That alone.
Please take the time to do your research before signing with any of these so-called programs as they will be taking your hard-earned money only, and not providing you with anything else. Unfortunately, we see those from your country as being the ones that do the best job of taking advantage of you.

Most major acute care hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area (California, U.S.A.) have stopped hiring LVN's. In our hospital particularly, the union representing the RN's and our hospital have signed a contract that includes the phasing out of all LVN positions in our hospital's in-patient units. The remaining LVN's are encouraged to go back to nursing school to obtain their RN degree and license. Those LVN's who don't become licensed RN's by 2010 will all be re-assigned to areas other than the in-patient units.
The job prospects for LVN's in acute care hospitals in California is not good, however nursing homes are still hiring LVN's but the salary they offer is much less than in acute care hospitals.

Thanks for posting that.
Perhaps some of these shoddy schools will close after the students find out that they cannot work legally in the US.

That's the problem suzanne, they're already been blinded by the so many promises said my so many schools and of course, our very own Sec. Brion that they expect a good and permanent work here and abroad after finishing this course...

He is the one that needs to go back to school and do some reading. Your own government does not accept that training, so they cannot work in your country. And then it does not meet the requirements for getting a visa in most other countries either.
He just is totally clueless, just looks bad for the government there if their politicians have no true idea of what is happening in the real wolrd away from PI.

you know what? i think its the Government's fault.. This Brion even said on tv that if BSN student's don't pass the Board for Nurses, they will be LPNs automatically. Which is absurd!
and the tesda, they still accept and get them registered for those schools which have PN trainings.

Yes, it is the governments fault to say the least. And not passing the RN exam does not make on an LPN either.
Think that your government officials should have an idea of how things are actually done, and what should be done, and then be required to have their family members treated by nurses that trained in programs that they approved, and that includes that they need to be treated by them as well.
Think that things would then change quickly. Every time that I see one remark come from the above named politician I start to laugh even more, does not have one clue as to what is happening, and yet he is involved in some of these scandulous rulings that come out of there.
He surely needs some of his own medicine.

Hello!
I'm a green card holder.I studied pre-nursing subject(public school) here in chicago hoping to get a shot for anursing program.I was discourage to continue my studies because of the 4 to 5 year waiting period for an Associate in Nursing or BSN program. So ,if I study the Practical Nursing program in the philippines and pass the philippine licensure ,will i be able to take the NCLEX and allowed to work in the US?Any recommended school in the visayas area for LPN?
Thanks
