Re: nclex review center- dr. carl balita?

dr. carl balita review center is the former Saint louie review center.. uhm they focus in test taking style, i mean it's not like pentagon that have a pure lecture, in carl balita it's Q&A type of review..because of that, sometimes they did not tackle all lessons or watever about nursing.. and sir balita loves to sing hehehe... they are good in building the confidence of their reviewee... it helps me a lot hahaha

for nclex', they said that Pentagon had 100% passing rate in nclex exam..

I guess almost all review centers claim that they always have a 100% passing rate.

NCLEX is not as hard as most nurses thought IF YOU HAVE PREPARED ENOUGH. I did not go to any review center in prep for my NCLEX cause I learned my lesson. I once attended a review class in prep for NLE, and I got nothing more than what I learned from school. What I did was A LOT OF READING and used Saunders Comprehensive Review AS A GUIDE. I read the entire book and used our college textbooks (MS by Black, MCN by Pilliteri, Pedia by Wong) as reference whenever I cannot explain a certain disease process. I answered the questions at then end of each chapter, and assessed myself by answering the questions in the accompanying CD. I did that for 3 months in Starbucks, while nursing a broken heart. I finished my exam in 1 hour w/ 75 questions. The point is, NCLEX will ask you questions that an entry level nurse MUST know. All of these things are in the books. Lectures are of great help, but YOUR UNDERSTANDING of the concept will be the one to save you when faced with questions that requires CRITICAL THINKING. i KNOW

don't believe in any centers of firms offering a 100% passing rate in any exams for the possibility of attaining such is from less to no chances. it is not even close to fact. just be attentive in all the lessons regardless of whatever path you may take. take things seriously but don't forget to share some joys with your friends and loved ones. goodluck!

Self-review worked for me. Most of the questions I encountered in NCLEX were not discussed when I was reviewing for NLE. In NCLEX, UNDERSTANDING is the key. If you know the disease process, you can explain the signs & symptoms, thus, the management. Knowing the diseases common in the US will be useful in answering NCLEX questions.

Re: nclex review center- dr. carl balita?

tnx for the info akoitoh, i guess dr. balita is not the review center for me if thats the case. yah i know pentagon is good but i've read some forums wherein the moderators here don't recommend those review centers that were involved in the june 2006 leakage exam coz it might affect your US employment in the future. geez, looking for a good review center is harder than i thought

St. Louis Review Center was raided earlier in the year by the NBI in conjunction with FSBT (PT Boards - US) for distributing actual NPTE exam questions to their students. This is just FYI.

Re: nclex review center- dr. carl balita?

reviewing for nclex??? tell you, enrolling in ANY review center here in manila will be just a waste of money because you yourself can just buy the books, cds, and have the comfort of having your own time reviewing at home and STILL PASS THE NCLEX. review centers only gives you the facility.

it will also confuse you, in a way that majority of nclex testers suggests saunders, while review centers will also suggest it BUT YOU'LL BE ABLE TO GET BOOKS FROM THEM TOO THAT WILL MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE TO READ ALL THAT! - result is, rumbled ideas about a certain topic and that will drain you down from exerting your effort to understand a topic.

GET A RELIABLE BOOK, STAY FOCUS ON IT, PRACTICE Q
