guys, i just want to ask, what do you think will be the outcome of the upcoming national board exam for nursing, i mean, will the next batch who will take the exams on december will also be affected by all the "issues" that originated from the last (june 06) batch? honestly i was planning to take the december board (i graduated this october) but there's this doubt inside of me that what if we also suffer the same fate they just went through? will the exam be super-difficult?

If I were you I wouldn't bother taking it anymore. Not worth the risk. This is presuming of course that you have plans to work abroad and wants to do it the fast and hassle-free way.

You can apply to any services from CGFNS/ICHP w/o a license w/ no problems what so ever as long as you haven't taken the NLE or the State BON or BRN you want to apply to doesn't require the CGFNS Certification (CGFNS Exam).

If you have your transcripts already you can apply right NOW.

What state do plan to live and work?

Unless you want to work in other countries like the Middle East then you need to have a PRC license.

If my opinion counts for anything, and your goal is to work in the US, do not take the NLE exam. And this is something that I have been saying for more than one year.

You can start the process immediately, as soon as you have a completed set of transcripts. If you wait to take the exam, then you are waiting for your score, etc. And have thrown out three months plus just by that. You can have the exam, NCLEX-RN, written by the time that you would get your score from the NLE. And no concerns about whether or not something will be accepted.

And just from an outsider view looking in, have never been to the Philippines.

If things have not been cleared up already from the June exam, and the PRC is in power one day and then is not, how in the world can it be expected that things will be done completely on the up and up in just one month? The courts are still having issues over this past exam, and that will not change for sometime. Remember that the exam is supposedly being held in less than one month from now.

And if with all of the issues, only 17,000 passed, and that was before the 1500+ that have to do a retake. How in the world is the passing rate so low to begin with? Something is not quite right with that either.

Just a thought…..what if you take the NCLEX first and after you’ve passed it, take the local board (if you believe that at one point you will need it)?

There is still the VisaScreen certification. The VSC is, in my humble opinion, is as much as impt. if not more impt. for foreign-educated nurses than the NCLEX itself and if you apply for the VSC at the time you took the NLE then you will have to disclose that you took it.

Some may be thinking to apply for the NCLEX and VSC and once they get those certificates they will take the NLE. I personally do not see the logic of this unless someone has plans to work as a nurse in the Phil. afterwards.

This is just my humble opinion, though and for the sake of discussion. Everyone can do whatever they want.

i doubt u would even go back to taking an NLE if u already made it in the nclex.. haha...

If you believe at one point you will need it then I guess you should take the exam.
Lets say you did not take the NLE, instead you took the NCLEX-RN and passed. What will you do while waiting for your visa? Assuming you dont have any, no tourist visa, not an immigrant.
You cannot work as a nurse, cannot volunteer as a nurse, cannot train as a nurse and cannot even take your masters. Thats just my point.
But if you are sure you will never work here in the Phil then you can choose not to take the NLE anymore.

I know some who already work in the US but still went back here and took NLE.
