I will need a PDA for nursing school and have all MAC computers.
I think that the palm treo 700p can sync with a Mac but not sure.(that model has the palm OS, not windows)
Also not sure if a Palm XT is better for nursing applications since it has a bigger screen and less extra stuff like the cell phone and camcorder bogging it down. My friends tell me the battery lasts a long time either way. Maybe that doesn't matter and it's good to have everything together.
does the XT not have a keyboard?

I am not sure if the XT works on a Mac, have you tried the Palm website?
However, with the TX, you can write on the screen with the stylus, or hit letters with the stykus on a small on screen keyboard, or purchase a keyboard you can attach to the TX and use.
Personally, I find it easiest to just write in the boxes with the stylus.

Sorry I meant to say Palm TX!
I have been to lots of website and they are all confusing. That's why i wanted to hear from a real person that has done it.
I went to Sprint today and they would have sold me a windows Palm Treo if I didn't explain to them that it was a windows treo. You can't rely on sprint or Palm to know (or care) about those things.
I wish they didn't make it so difficult.

I have a mac running on panther and an old palm zire 31. It does not work as well with the skyscape software. The palm itself now syncs with ical, but I cannot get updates on my skyscape software using my mac. To get updates, I sync with my PC. To get it it sync with ical, I had to go to apple's support site and download a bunch of updates. The disc that came with the palm is mac compatible. It does have it's own calender you can use as well.

When you load it, you can drag an icon down to the dock that allows you to drop about anything into it and have it appear on your palm during the next sync. (btw, syncing is plugging your palm into your computer with a usb cord to transfer information) It also gives you a palm desktop icon, which is where you find your calenders and contacts. I have to say, the only time i use my palm with my mac is when I sync it with ical, because everything is on there. It is my life schedule! When I buy software I use the PC. I've never been able to load it properly using the mac. Bummer too - especially now that the PC's at geek squad to get rid of a virus. Never have any trouble with the mac, and it's 8 years old now!

Thanks so much for the info.
I think I will go to the Apple store this weekend and see if one of their "Geniuses" at their Genius bar knows if the newer Palm Treos (700p and 755p) are more compatible with Macs. Surely they must be by now!
The iphone might be a good PDA for us MAC users someday, but it's so new I guess there would not be a lot of Nursing software now.

I'm using a Compaq iPaq PDA running Windows 2002 Pocket PC, and it syncs up really well by using a program called Missing Sync.

On a side note, things that run Palm OS sync better to Macs than Windows Pocket PC.

Well, I just bought a Palm Treo 700p off ebay so I will see how it works. I hope it makes life easier not harder!
