Somebody Stop Me!!!

I got my new Palm T/X the other day for Christmas from my best friend...I LOVE it! I've gone insane with software!! LOL. I am set for the rest of my last 5 months of school (not to mention the start of my nursing career)!! I wish I had gotten it sooner. Just today alone, I've used it for the calander, contacts, jump online while shopping to email my daughter something I forgot to tell her (she LIVES online) and I didn't have my phone with me, I've used the RX software I got to look up a few meds for a project, I've also used it for the "proper" sequence to do certain nursing skills (again for school).

I;m going to go broke I tell ya! I am seeing so many things i want to download.

I showed it to a friend in the class that graduates 3 months before me...she's sooo jealous. I was showing her all the things it could do and help us w/for school. I think she's running out soon to get one. Its too bad that she's getting it this late in her schooling.

If your thinking about getting on before starting school, my best advice..DO IT NOW and get use to all the things it can do for you. Its going to be so nice to be able to carry that little thing than the drug book, the Tabers, etc.

Re: Somebody Stop Me!!!

What problem?

I've got Tabers, Davis Drug Guide, Rn Notes, three NCLEX programs, two quiz programs, etc. etc.

I don't see a problem, except when I got my credit card bill.

I have ohh lets see:
Mosby's PDA Dictionary of Medicine, Nursing, & Health Professions

Nursing Constellation™: All-in-One Nursing Solution

Lippincott Manual of Nursing Practice: Procedures

Nurse's Fast Facts: Your Quick Source for Core Clinical Content

Ecpocrates Meds

With that Skyscape gave me a few free downloads

All bought and paid for yesterday. I see a bunch more I want (want to download Tabers too although I much prefer the Mosby Dictonary). The problem...as you said..no problem until I see my bank statement next month.

I have been trying to figure this all out, did you download all of that directly to your palm, or on a seperate memory card? I have just ordered a memory card, but now I see things like the Constellation can be bought on it's own memory card, and if you do that can you add additional things to that card that you would like to down load?

Not too sure about adding to their memory card.

I have a memory card but I downloaded all that stuff directly on the Palm.

hmmm ok, this is all so confusing. I tried to upload Pepid's trial and said there wasn't enough memory available ( I didn't have the memory card in there). I did have some epocrates software on there. I am still confused how to do it all. I thought I read that most people keep their nursing stuff all on one memory card, but I could have dreamed it lol.

Lots of people do keep their stuff on the memory card. I have a memory card, but didn't use it.

I don't know if you can buy the skyscape stuff on their memory card and add more things to it.

Depends on how big the card is and also size on the applications. I have managed to put a few programs onto one card

Get yourself a 1 gig memory card, and that should be all you need. Epocrates shouldn't be taking up that much memory in your Palm- do you have a T/X?

I have the Skyscape constellation, and I love it. I used it every day. Pepid has some really good integrated programs, but you have to pay a monthly prescription. With Skyscape, you pay once for the program and get free updates.

Well I have mine as well but I have only purchased one program for it, Davis's Drug guide, the rest (Which there are about 10) I downloaded, legally, for free. I have an AMAZING med calculations program that does dozens of types of calculations, and a program that does ABG's. I LOVE MY PALM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you search the net you can find dozens of free programs. I cannot afford to spend money on programs so, I use the free Epocrates and will purchase the real deal once I graduate. I have found, as I said, dozens of free programs to assist me with school. My classmates are jealous as well, LOL.
