Question about downloading Skyscape Constellation

I just purchased a (used) Palm TX, which also came with a 128mb expansion disk but I'm thinking I will buy a 2GB expansion disk since they are fairly cheap.

Would you download Constellation directly to the Palm, download it onto an expansion card (not even sure if that's possible?), or pay the extra $25 to have Skyscape send it to you already on a card?

Some may only be downloaded onto the TX but you may get an option to add to card when arrange sync from computer to TX

You can download all the pdb files to your SD card and download the pdr files in the palm.

The pdb files are the actual information and the pdr holds the applications to read the pdb files. I did that with my palm and you'll have plenty memory left with your internal memory. Why pay $25 bucks if you can do it yourself.

Re: Question about downloading Skyscape Constellation

The reason I decided not to go this route (buying the SD card from skyscape) was 1) when I buy something like that I want to use it right away, I don't want to wait for shipping, and 2) the 1 GB SD cards at my local electronics store (J&R) are 10.99, the 2 GB are 24.99 and the 4 GB are 29.99 so it was not cost effective either.

My husband & I have 2Gb SD cards in our TX's that we purchased at Staples. We downloaded the Constellation directly to the pc. When you click "add" on Palm QuickInstall, you get the option to install on "handheld" or "card". The memory requirements are listed on the right of the screen, and some will state the file/program is going to go on both the handheldand the card. That's because some portions of some programs require to be on the device in order to function properly. After you click "add", it will show up in the top part of the screen (handheld), if you want it on the card, just click and drag it down to the bottom part of the screen (card). We put all our programs on the card, and still have PLENTY of room left on it.

Hope this helps you,

K.
