I have the tungsten TX, and I love it. I have the Pepid RN student bundle, and am satisfied (it came out to the same price as the Skyscape bundle with a discount). Unfortunately when I bought I didn't know enough yet to know what to buy, but it has been great for clinicals.
The TX also has a big color screen, wifi, bluetooth, the documents to go program mentioned above (I have all of my lecture powerpoints on there so I can read them easily on the subway), and music and video player, (I have an ipod so i don't use it).
It really is addictive, I have converted so many of my fellow students because I can come up with answers so fast, and don't have to carry a stack of books to clinical.
I think next year (when the pepid expires) I may pick a few of the skyscape programs to get, at least I will know what I need by then.

My husband purchased a Palm for me to use on the floor. It is wireless and I am interested in getting a subscription to an OB download that will be a great resource. My girlfriend is in ER and she downloaded Epocrates to her Palm. I think I would rather have something more specific to Labor and delivery. Does any one have any suggestions?

Hey, that sounds great! Did you build your own spreadsheet or are there good ones out there specifically designed for this? I've played with making spreadsheets but I recognize my limitations and I would not build my own for this purpose.

some of these are for "doctors", but I have seen some other -ologist type skyscape programs, and they work for nurses too. especially as a reference tool. they have an obstetrician constellation that looks pretty sweet for what you are looking for. ... http://www.skyscape.com/estore/Produ...ProductId=2351

Can you copy stuff out of the Davis drug guide and paste it into word? Like for care plans? I got a Palm TX and was wondering...

For me, it wouldn't work. Then again, I would not use the PDA to do a careplan, I'd use my desktop.

Well the reason I asked is because the Davis drug guide program that I installed on my computer went crazy on me and I had to reinstall windows. I was wondering if you could copy and paste stuff with the drug guide on the pda to a word file and transfer the word file to your computer. Complicated I know but I was wondering if it would work.

I think it'd probably be easier to just Google up the drug monograph and cut and paste as needed.

You also might see if you can re-download the drug book program.

This is for all of you iphone/Apple die hard fans. Very good news regarding third party applications. Epocrates is working on a third party application that does not require internet access. I suspect that this will effect those of us with the ipod touch as well. We can finally start using our ipods as PDA's. Watch the video, really cool features if they can translate the same setup into the non web based program.
