Need Information - PDA's......

Hello people, I am new to this site and LOVE it. I will be starting my prereqs in the fall and hope to apply to nursing school next spring or fall. My question is I have heard nurses and others talking on here about PDA's. Are they used for meds and things of that nature, and are they connected to the internet? What other equipment might I need to start school with? I hope that someone will please help me with my question, I posted it somewhere else last week and no one answered me! Thank you for your time and good luck to us all!

Re: PDA's......

If you go up to the "sticky" area there is a link to the thread about what to buy for nursing school. It is in the locked thread. It was very informative to me and helped me decide what I should and shouldn't buy. Be prepared its about 40-50 pages long.

Re: PDA's......

Unless you need a personal organizer, I really don't see a need for a PDA for you right now. Maybe that is why you're not getting a response. Also your question is kind of general and you may be able to narrow the focus a little bit after doing what tonyal said.

Right now my advice is to concentrate on doing well on the prereqs so that you can be competitive in entering the program, unless of course you are already guaranteed a spot in your program.

Learn the prereqs not just to get a good grade but to understand the body and its systems as much as possible. When you get into the program they may do a quick review when they concentrate on different systems but for the most part they are going to assume that you already know and understand it. If you don't then you will be spending time learning stuff that you are supposed to already know and fall behind in a program where time is a premium and falling behind sometimes means never catching up.

When you get done with the prereqs and are accepted into the program, come back and ask your question again. Not only will you be able to ask more specific questions by that time, but we will also be able to answer you.
