I am an experienced NP that is returning to employment after a 3 yr hiatus. Can anyone recommend a useful PDA and their 5-8 top picks for info on the PDA? I don't want to break the bank or have more information that I use on a daily basis. I will be working in a fast paced family practice office on a part-time basis.

I am not an NP (yet ), but as an RN I use Skyscape software, see skyscape.com. As for money issues and the PDA, I went to my cell phone compay, signed a 2yr contract and got the Motorola Q for 89$. Everything works great on it, has Windows mobil for an OS, has camera, video, MP3 player, BT, IR, unlimited net access, can even act as dial up for my lap top. The only thing I don't like is it could use a touch screen like my Palm had.

I have the Palm 700p with Verizon and have been happy with that. I have ePocrates Pro which has prescribing info, Renal Dosing program for antibiotics in the renal population, and then I have (in the Memos section), different protocols for different dxs, info for transcription (I work in five different hospitals) and then I have all my co-workers phone numbers and pager numbers on speed dial.
