Palm TX-where to get?

I am looking around at the Palm TX online and am finding prices anywhere from $225 and up. The campus bookstore told me on the phone thy sell them for $199. Doesn't that seem oddly low for a bookstore. Could it be an older model or something? Thoughts?
TIA!

Re: Palm TX-where to get?

That does seem a little wierd that they could sell it for so cheap considering that it is still $299 at a lot of online retailers like palm and dell. I had found it for $239 on Amazon. I just bought mine off of ebay the other day and it came in the mail today. I did not want to buy one used because they really were not selling for much cheaper than a new. I came accross a guy who had one brand new but he was also including an SD card loaded with medical programs. He wanted $350 or best offer and I ended up getting it for $325. I added up all the software and there is over $1300 worth so if you can find a deal like that it would be the way to go.

Re: Palm TX-where to get?

Thanks. Amazon is where I saw them for around $260. I am a bit leery aboutbuying one on ebay for some reason. My own paranoia!

I am the same way about ebay and I wouldn't have bought it there if they guy did not have a really high feedback and if I didn't know that i was protected by paypal with my purchases.

Make sure you read the fine print. As I've been looking these over I've found many that are refurbished, and it would've been easy to miss. Not comfortable doing refurbished myself...

Re: Palm TX-where to get?

yeah I noticed that when I was looking through them. At the very bottom of the list it would say refurbished. I actually found one that was brand new but a lot of them were refurbished. I am not comfortable with refurbished either.

Re: Palm TX-where to get?

I purchased mine today from Best Buy. Overall they have the most comprehensive service plan associated with the Palm TX. They even replace with a brand new one if a problem is unfixable or if you have had it repaired 3 times. The service plan is only 49.99 online and I was able to price match it in the store. I haven't used it yet, as it's charging but I am hoping everything works well.

Re: Palm TX-where to get?

I have a palm tx and paid 299.00 and got the dumb " insurance". I first bought the lifedrive because of the memory and I should have listened to the reviews. It keep freezing and took it back to bestbuy. Remember PDAs have a 14 day return policy for any reason you dont like it or malfunctions. Stay away from lifedrive. I love my tx. I now have two pdas. Go figure, I owned a treo650 since it came out and not enough memory for nursing programs which install a majority to internal memory. I now switched to sprint from verizon because the new palm centro and LOVE it. Internet speed from sprint blows verizon away and for under 100 bucks per month for unlimited " everything". Awesome deal. Verizon was 150 plus tax, etc per month and limited calling min and so forth.

Re: Palm TX-where to get?

I'm still deciding between a pocketpc and Palm T|X but, I suggest you check skyscape for a package deal; hardware and software.
They want $299 for the T|X and they include software that I will be buying anyway.
