palm tungsten e2 or palm t/x which should I get
|
|
I just went to my nursing school orientation yesterday and they made it mandatory for us to have a pda. They were selling the tungsten e2 there...but i wanted to check ebay before buying it from the school. I have looked in to the tx and was wondering if in the long run if would be better to have that one or if it was more than I needed?

I actually called Palm just today...and here is the difference:
The E2 is not pre-setup to get on the internet...if that is a feature you want. Our school uses alot of Blackboard, so I want to be able to use it. The card to make the E2 Wi-Fi is $99. The base price is $199.
The TX, has a large memory, better processor, larger screen and already comes Wi-Fi capable...for $299.
To me...that pretty much made my decision to go with the TX...I just have to decide on programs.

TheTX has more built in memory, but the E2 does have expandable memory. I love getting on the internet on my TX, ive even read the forums on it when I couldnt get to my laptop... I like it alot and reccommend it...but if you just want a basic functioning PDA, the E2 would be fine...
Good Luck!

you can find the TX from some pretty decent eBay vendors (like 5,000+ positive 99.9%) going for $220 or so, shipped. Go for the TX. it is a great tool, and a back saver (each program represents a 10 lb book). Has some nice consumer products that get a bit of use, the browser is surprisingly good. Once you get used to it, you will be zipping through. I use tabers a lot, and the nursing processes, NDH and the nrs DX..... The NDH gets free upgrades for new blacklist drugs and new info. very well thought out programs and intuitive. Palms are a bit finniky. I do a weekly soft reset, and a hard rest once a month. You get used to that and it becomes a quick ritual. 5 minutes a week, no biggie.
