Palm Pilot Help!

Hi all,
I just started working at a hospital and decided to get a Palm Pilot (Tungsten T3) so I could have alot of information at hand without carrying 20 books with me. Anyway, I am having a hard time getting the Palm Pilot to work with my relatively new laptop (Windows XP). I have tried using the Palm Pilot website, but its been no help. Does anybody have experience with these things? Maybe I am missing something simple!?!

I appreciate any help!

You should have no problems whatsoever. What issues are you running into?
Have you loaded all of the info from the CD onto your computer first, before trying anything? You need to load the dirvers if you haven't already done so and this is different than the computer just being able to read that you have hooked up a handheld to it.

I bought the Palm Pilot used from one of my brothers and he did not include the CD. I tried to d/l all the stuff from the palm pilot website, and that did not work. I guess I just need the CD. The problem I am having is with the HotSync function.

Thank you for your help!

Have you downloaded all of the drivers from the Palm website?
What are you using to try to HotSync?

I had the same problem

Just finally managed to figure it out. Sounds like your program is hitting a firewall. I disabled my norton virus control thingie and hit the hotsync button and voila!! It worked just fine.

Make sure to "enable" your virus protector after you are done.

Hope that helps.

Suzanne,

I'm trying to HotSync the PalmPilot to my laptop so I can upload all of the Nursing software I bought. My brother is a techie wizard so I took the Palm Pilot to him, he says there's something wrong with it, but he can fix it... There was a lot of techie mumbo-jumbo in that conversation...Whatever, lol

But thank you again for your help! I do appreciate it!
Jill
