Seems like once upon a time, I found a site where some nursing org was selling Palms pre-loaded with lots of software.. anybody remember that, or am I imagining things?

But http://www.pdamd.com has had a special (that I took advantage of) where you could buy a handhold along with a subscription to epocrates for about the cost of the handhold alone. I found out later that AACN (American Association of Critical Care Nurses) has something similar.

Congratulations on your gift. You'll love it once you get comfortable with it.

The programs I use are:
RNLabs4
Davis Drug Guide
Archimedes (freeware from Skyscape.com)

If you didn't get a calculator with your Palm (I didn't), you'll need one of those too. I got mine as freeware and it's nothing fancy. Can't remember where it came from.

These programs are really the necessary basics.

I got a Tungsten E for christmas and have been looking for different software programs to install to help with school. One of my books I use for clinicals is "Clinical Companion for MedSurg nursing" it has diseases, etc with nursing interventions, diagnosis, patient education etc and I would like to find software similiar to this. Does anyone have suggestions?? I have looked at the 5 minute Clinical Consult, which has good info but I need something more geared toward nursing with the interventions, patient education etc. BTW, I love my PDA!! I wish I had it during my first semester.

I had a Tungsten E, but wasn't really happy with the battery life ... don't know if mine was defective or if that's a common problem. I'm currently in the market for a new one, but trying to get my Tungsten E sold (haven't tried ebay yet).

Thumbs up

Just thought I would update this thread. Since receiving my spanky new palm. I downloaded many of the sites that you have all suggested. I got the free RX from epocrates and the achrimedes calculator (another freebee I am currently searching for any new ones and I will continually update if I find them. Thank you all for your advice and Happy New year to all. :hatparty:
