Notepad help?

I really liked the Notepad feature that came on my Lifedrive, but now for some reason, it's not working consistently as it should.

Any thoughts on why and/or suggestions as to a fix?

Yes, I was wondering if that might've had something to do with it. It works now, but I have to draw pretty slowly.
