Looking for a palm and LOST!

I am hoping that anyone who owns a Palm and/or has a technilogical mind can help me choose a PDA for myself.

I want a PDA to use programs to help me at work (meds, diagnosis, tests, etc). I would also use it to check email since I send email frequently. I dont need a phone, camera, or video camera, or anything that plays movies. I would not mind playing music on mine, but know I will probably get an extra memory card.

Im trying to do research on Palms. I see the Tungsten and the Tx as 2 options I am most likely to get.

But I do not know how they work...
How do you install programs on your palm? Do you do it through your PC? How do I know if it is compatable to use with my PC?

Is it easy to search the internet? For instance, I was reading some reviews on Amazon, and one persona talked about how it does not support java or flash. Is that something I can download onto my PDA? I know java and flash are important for many websites.

If I download programs to my PDA, how much memory will it use up? How much memory do your programs take up? I dont want to have to insert a memory card just to use a program. (for music, that is ok)

Can I look at my hotmail? Can you read your hotmail?

Any information you have will be well appreciated.

Re: Looking for a palm and LOST!

I have a palm pilot I bought back in 2003..and I used it probably a total of 7 times.....it's like brand new actually. You are welcome to it for free if you'd like it......the only thing is it isn't a color screen, just plain........and you can't go to the web with it...but it is a good palm pilot.....I used to have a program in it called epocrates, but if anyone has any programs you want, you can beam them into it... Let me know just pm me......my pp is a SONY CLIE' PEG-SJ20......so if you're interested you can have it....( it has a memory card in it I bought also)

Ok if you want it, it's yours since SillyLilly declined! Just trying to throw out a helping hand because I know how expensive it can get.....and if I'm not using it I'd rather give it to someone in need or who will put good use to it.....
You can pm me your mailing address & I will send it to you......Hope you enjoy it! I loved it...I just never really used it is all......

Re: Looking for a palm and LOST!

I have a Tungsten T3. I have my drug guide, medical dictionary, lab values, etc. on it. It doesn't come with internet access though (although I could buy a wifi card $99 if I want internet access). The Palm TX is a good PDA. It comes with wireless internet. I hear it's very easy to access the internect and use email. You can purchase drug guide, dictionary, etc. from skyscape.com and download them onto your PDA.

Re: Looking for a palm and LOST!

I'm planning on getting a TX because it has the WiFi capabilities. I don't figure I'll have much time when I start school, but that will allow me to check my email real quick if I'm in a place with free WiFi.

Re: Looking for a palm and LOST!

I know that there are popular models out there that are very good, but after doing lots of research, I finally chose the Dell Axim X51v. It has a very fast processor, good amount of memory (with capabilities to add much more), 2 different types of memory cards (SD and CF), and the best resolution screan (not to mention a very large screen to boot.) I installed Skyscapes Nursing Constellation and Tabers, and have been very happy with hardware and software. It has wireless internet access (WiFi) and bluetooth all buit in. I absolutely couldn't recommend the Dell more. The downside? It is a bit pricey, but I figured since I would be using it all the time, I decided to spend a little more money and get what I really wanted. Good luck with your search.
