IV drug compatability ref

Can anyone recommend a PDA drug guide that allows you to check IV drug compatablity? I think that this will be a great resource in the critical care setting. Thanks.

Re: IV drug compatability ref

Someone at work mentioned that they have a book of IV compatible meds. When I see her again, I will ask her about it. I need one also.

Re: IV drug compatability ref

I have Davis Drug Guide for nurses on my Palm. It is set up exactly like the book giving syringe and/or Y port compatibility. Davis is the book I used in school so getting it for the Palm was the perfect choice for me. I think I paid $29.95 for it.

These 2 IV Med references are from Lippincott, and Mosby respectively. I have used the Mosby book and it came in pretty handy for some meds that I seldom gave. If the PDA layout is anything like the book it should be a good buy and will probably be on this year's to buy list.

On second thought, the skyscape description of the Lippincott reference actually tells me and shows me more about the pda program, like how much of my memory it will take up, and there's the whole linking with the other programs I already have business. I guess I'll have to think some more on it.

It's been awhile since I've used it but I think the free Epocrates Essentials has the drug compatibility feature.
