The PDA might also come in handy with the alarm feature. I use an alarm to remind me to turn heparin drips on or off, as sometimes they have to be held for half an hour or longer.
I also use it to approximate times I need to look for APTTs or Cardiac Enzymes on a patient, so I can call the results to the doc.
I also write it down, but just in case I'm in the middle of something that can wait (patient's family wants information, for instance), the alarm will sound and I can excuse myself much faster.
That's a heck of an idea...for some reason never thought about it. Might just have to try it next week.
I use my Palm only for reference and keeping my life together. Patient info never goes in there, it goes on my "brain" (clipboard).
