Epocrates help please

I have the HP 5500 series pocket pc. My husband has downloaded everything (Activesyn, avantgo) and we have tried installing the free epocrates but it keeps saying not a valid pocket PC application. We downloaded the Pc not the os version. Has this happened to anyone else?

Re: Epocrates help please

Yes, I have the HP 2110 and could not load Epocrates either. I thought it was a problem with my deviceor due to "operator error", but then I was able to download Davis Drug Guide and a NCLEX review from Skyscape to my pda. I went back and forth with Epocrates' support center and they had no idea what was wrong...So, I just gave up. Let me know if you end up having any luck.

Re: Epocrates help please

I just emailed their support people today regarding the same thing. Hopefully, I will get a message back soon. It's something wrong on THEIR end.

Typically, what this means is that you are trying to install a Windows program onto the Pocket PC. While the Pocket PC is technically running Windows (Windows Mobile), it's not the same as your PC, and does not recognize programs that your PC will recognize, and vice versa.

Whatever program you're attempting to run on the Pocket PC needs to be run on your regular PC, with the Pocket PC connected. Epocrates must install from the "real" PC, which will in turn install to the Pocket PC through ActiveSync.

If this still doesn't work, ensure you've downloaded the correct file (make sure it's for Pocket PC and not Palm), and try again via the PC. Hope it works for you.
