Books on PDA..Cost the same??

I wanted to know if the pda versions of books (such as drug guides, etc.) cost more, the same, or less than the actual books themselves?

Re: Books on PDA..Cost the same??

I have found it to be right around the same price. For example the Davis Drug Guide for Nurses is 39.95 at amazon.com and at skyscape the pda version is 49.95, but if you buy 2 references you get 15% off and if you buy 3you get 20% off, making it the same price as the book.

Re: Books on PDA..Cost the same??

Oh my God , I just go accepted to the traditional program at GSU, and after reading I better get ready to spend money for the books and supplies.
Are the books used for the entire program or do we have to keep buying books every year?

Re: Books on PDA..Cost the same??

Another nice thing about buying from Skyscape is that you get the desktop version with your PDA for free. So when you are writing your reports, careplans, med sheets, etc., the information is easy to find and you can cut and paste the information instead of having to type them. While having the PDA is great during clinicals, being able to read them on my computer monitor is a lot easier on the old eyes.

I don't know about your program but in mine the list of books they told us to buy at the beginning are supposed to be good throughout the program. Every time an instructor said that there was a new version out of a pub we were using we told them that we had the version that they told us to buy in the beginning of the program and that was that. There are additional books we had to buy as we went into the subsequent semesters such as when we hit peds and psych.
