Anybody using the iphone as their PDA yet?

I guess Skyscape is coming out with more and more programs to run on the iphone, just wondering if any one is using them yet?

I was telling someone at work that the only time I'll pay $500 for a phone is if it will replace my PDA, so then he showed me online the list of programs available.

I'm not using an Iphone, I'm using an ITouch. I use the wi-fi to access the hospital databases such as up to date and micromedic. So far its working well. My primary use is as a IPOD though. I've got lectures and stuff on it as well as music. "m not ready to turn in my treo yet though.

Re: Anybody using the iphone as their PDA yet?

I was looking for a good excuse to get an iTouch and I thought having the Davis drug guide available for download would be it. Now I see that it's just a web-link and that I'd need to be in a WiFi enabled area in order to have access. Unfortunately that's not the case in my ER. Guess I'll be sticking to my Palm tungsten.

You're right that the drug guide is not stored locally on the phone but you don't need to be in a WiFi area. The iphone uses its own network (called The Edge) when free WiFi is not available. A friend of mine does tech support for Apple so he let me play with his iphone way out in the boonies were there was absolutely no WiFi and it still worked great! I'm just waiting for the second generation iphone to come out (hopefully January) so I can get one myself

The previous poster is referring to i-Touch and not the i-Phone, and the iTouch (iPod+Touchscreen) supports only WiFi
